What are Same-Day Dental Crowns?
A dental crown is tooth-shaped cap that is permanently cemented over a tooth, in order to restore the tooths strength, shape and size, and improve its appearance. The crown will cover the visible portion of the tooth above and right at the gum line, once it is cemented into place.
Crowns are used to hold weak, broken or cracked teeth together to avoid further fracturing. Crowns are also used to support large fillings, attach a bridge, or cover discolored or deformed teeth. Crowns may also be placed over dental implants.
Dental crowns can be used for a variety of different reasons, including:

In our office we use Cerec technology to make the crown in a single visit. No goopy impressions or temporary crowns are required. After preparing the tooth we take optical impressions to create a 3D model of your teeth. We then design your crown and it is then milled out using a block of porcelain shaded to match your teeth. After it’s tried in and any adjustments made the crown is bonded to the tooth completing the procedure.
